It's time to say Thank You!

I hope everyone had a fantastic Holiday! We just got home yesterday from a 10 day jaunt out to Philly to visit with my husband's family. We did get to stop through Columbus, Ohio to see some of my family. Papa Gary and Grandma Karen were great Dog Sitters. Truck was a good boy too but, I found out he was like Goldilocks and tried to sleep in every bed in the house. Silly dog.

We also had a friend of mine's father feed our goldfish while we were gone. What do you give to a father figure as a thank you for watching your goldfish?! I was at a loss but, my SIL suggested a Philadelphia favorite, TASTY CAKES! I had picked up a bunch for Bill for when he gets home from Iraq but, it was also a perfect little thank you for George as well.

Jen McGuire emailed me, as I was driving through the mountains in Pennsylvania to ask if I could create a card using a technique I used on a card that was in the Winter Issue of Scrapbook and Cards Today. She is the blogger this week at Hero Arts and asked if I could use the Flourish Tree stamp to create trees with varying heights. PERFECT! I made this card for George and gave it to him yesterday with the Tasty Cakes. Supplies:
Cardstock: WORLDWIN Papers/Treasures
Stamps: Hero Arts
Ink: Stampin' UP!
Ribbon: Making Memories
I love this tree stamp. It is very versatile. Since it's one of my favorites, Jen suggested that I give away another one of these stamps with a set of notecards from Hero Arts.

Just leave me a comment between now and midnight EST on Wednesday, Jan 7th. Why don't you give a shout out to someone you would like to thank for their kindness from this past year.
(Please make sure you check back on Thursday morning to see who won... I don't have one of those fancy blogs where I can email you from your comment. :( )

Make sure you check out Jen's blog today as well, she is giving away a fantastic book that I just received from CardMaker. CardMaker SketchBook -- Birthday Celebrations by Tami Mayberry.

I will give away another copy on my blog next week, starting on Thursday. -- ANOTHER great reason to check back! ;)

Have a great one!

My grown children in a short span of time, were there for me through my divorce, the death of my father, and the death of my brother. I, who had always been the stoic one, cried if you looked at me, couldn't find my keys, my purse, my shoes, or my brain, and had rock-bottom self-esteem. They held my hand, called me, and reminded me of all the good things I had done over the years, and of all of their friends whom I had "helped" raise. I thank God for sending me my children, and thank them for putting up with me.
